Saturday Jan 31st:
Demo at Red Mountain 10am-2 pm. Multiple fleets of fat bikes for your demo’ing pleasure! Some orgainized departures from Betty Go Hard (times tba) or otherwise just come and take one for a spin. (Waiver signed and CC imprint and ID required) Bring a helmet!
Sunday Feb 1st:
We’ve got a 12 km figure 8 planned with 2 timed stages. See map for details but expect a casual cruise from the ski hill out the centennial trail and then a quick grind up Monte Christo Rd. to the first startline at the TechnoGrind trailhead. The finish for stage 1 is back at the bottom of Monte Christo after looping back on the Kootenay Columbia trail. Then you’ll retrace the Centennial to Larry’s and climb to the top of the Miner’s trail to the start of Stage 2. Stage 2 is down the lower portion of the Red Top trail until it intersects with the Paydirt climb which you are on only briefly until you cross unde the Red Chair and we have the grand finale on the Face of Red and the finish line near the base of the Red Chair.
The course is comprised of packed trail (hopefully it doesn’t snow on Sat night!) on Blue/Intermediate singletrack (as far as summer ratings go). Check the map for elevation profiles. Helmets are required. The timed stages are designed to be challenging enough to be fun, so it is on twisty, narrow’ish trail with trees within proximity. It is not on wide snowmobile groomed trails so please have fun but please ride within your experience level.
If you want to pre-register in person at Revolution you may do so when we are open. If you are from out of town, you may wait until the day of the race to register so you can sign the waiver in person. The cost is $30 cash. Day of Registration at 10 am in the Conference Room at Red base lodge.
